one of my favorite obscure-ish stories is “Le Loyon”, an unknown person who has been seen walking through the woods near a swiss town decked out in a cape, full gas mask, and military attire. theyve been sighted for over 10 years, never behaving aggressively but obviously freaking out the locals.
in 2013 their costume was found with a note stating that they were leaving, that “the risk of a hunt for a beast became too great” and “the feeling of insecurity grew”.
someone out there has pretty much become a legend by lurking around a forest in a gas mask, but they werent in it for infamy, and just wanted to be left alone to do whatever it is they did. kind of sad really. i admire them greatly, whoever they are
only one photo of them was ever taken, after they looked at the photographer and silently walked away
